University Honors Program Diploma Checklist

To earn an Honors Program-designated diploma from the University of Dayton, a student must successfully complete all regular degree requirements, plus:

Course Work

• Complete a minimum of 6 Honors-designated courses, with a minimum 3.0 GPA for these 18 credit hours,
• OR, complete a minimum of 4 Honors-designated courses, with a minimum 3.0 GPA for these 12 credit hours, AND an approved study abroad or cultural immersion experience.
• Additional credits towards the Honors diploma can be earned through the following:
  • Participation in CORE
  • Participation in Chaminade Scholars Program
  • The completion of an approved or self-defined three-course cluster

Honors Thesis project

• Complete 6 credit hours of an approved Honors Thesis project.  View the Honors Thesis Guidelines for key details, including the initial Honors Thesis Information Form and the schedule for required Honors Thesis Workshops.

Service or Leadership Activity

• Complete an approved service or leadership activity.

Grade Point Average

•  Maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.
