International and Cross-Cultural Experiences

Specialized and challenging opportunities for study abroad and cultural immersion abound at the University of Dayton. In a world made interrelated and interdependent by the forces
of globalization, today’s undergraduate student in any field benefits immeasurably from meaningful exposure to social, cultural, and linguistic diversity.

Honors and Berry Scholars students are eligible for support from the Cordell W. Hull International Fellows Fund and the Patrick F. Palermo Honors Program Founders Fund.

The Hull Fund supports both individual and collaborative projects, programs, and activities for University Honors and Berry Scholar students to learn, lead and serve abroad. Recent sponsored activities include Honduras and Cameroon cultural immersion programs, independent research on aspects of domestic violence in Madrid, and a study on creation
of the European Union and its implications for American business with on-site research
in London, and in other European centers.

The Palermo Founders Fund, a newly-designated program founded by the University Honors Program alumni, provides support for Honors and Berry Scholar students undertaking Honors Thesis projects that involve international research, or service and leadership in the community.
